Love Little Moon began in February 2022, but the idea began 2 years ago when our twins were born.
Gracie and Levi were born prematurely at 34 weeks. They were beautiful, healthy, but because they were so tiny, they spent 3 weeks in the special care nursery where they continued to grow and learn to feed. When they finally came home, the full swing of parenthood and what it means to have twin babies burst into our home. There were mountains of laundry piled up, boxes of nappies and wipes stacked in our bedroom, spew rags ready in every room and a line of bottles always waiting to be washed. We were busy. It was exhausting. But yet we were so in love with our precious little humans that we naturally embraced all the chaos. But as new mums do, I still had this little voice in the back of my head worrying are my babies growing and developing as they should? Am I doing everything I can do to give my babes the best start to life? During those 3 hourly feeds in the first few months of life I found myself constantly googling searching for what products, toys, anything I needed to ensure my babies continued to thrive. At first I was just buying anything and everything I found on the internet and the baby chain stores. And then sometime in all those hours of night time feeds, I discovered Montessori. I read and read as much as I could and I fell in love with the theories on child development. It was simple and made sense. I didn't need 1000 different toys with all the bells and whistles. I just needed to focus on what my babies were doing right now. What skills were they working on right now that I could support them in learning to do?
